Two-Day Reda Weekend NOTE THE 2020 DATES ARE NOVEMBER 6-8

 

Welcome to our Two Day Reda Weekend: August 24 - 25, 2019.

 

Aegela will offer a 10 hour course in Reda that includes two 1 hour lectures (footage too). She wants to keep the classes small (except for the lectures) since there is so much traveling in this style. Please let your friends know and ask them to email me.

Classes will go from 10:00 AM until 3:30 on Saturday followed by a swap meet which is open to the public. Bring your stuff and make some money. And 10:00 until 3:30 on Sunday. So, you can all get out of here in time for your gigs or in time to get home and fix supper. You are welcome to get ready for your gigs here. Chez Artie is open and we will welcome out of towners.

Aegela and our friend Sahra Saeeda are the leading US instructors of Reda Technique. Aegela has known Mr Reda since 1983 so she has had 36 years of dance technique and friendship to draw upon. Aegela has permission from him to share his music, footage and techniques with you and some of this is material that nobody else has.

 

The intensive will include technique, combinations and a full choreography. Each class builds on the previous ones so you will want to take the entire weekend (unless you have already had the prerequisite classes and have permission from Aegela). If you are new to Reda or need a refresher, this will be a perfect opportunity for you to start from the ground up with the prerequisite morning intro class on Saturday. Saturday afternoon, Aegela will teach combinations which will be imbedded in the choreography. By 3:30 on Sunday, you will have a complete choreography to take home. The music is available. For the entire weekend: Package is Deal $220 for 10 hours of instruction!

CLASS SCHEDULE:

 

Saturday, August 24, 2019: WHAT MAKES IT REDA

​

10:00-12:00: Intro to Reda technique, clearly broken down details of the quintessential Redaisms. $50

 

12:00 - 1:00: break time 

 

12:30 - 1:30 A working lunch when Aegela will give a lecture and show footage while you eat. The subject will be the history of Reda ($20). You can brown bag or pay Artie $10 for your vegetarian friendly lunch (boarders get 2 meals included)

 

1:30 - 3:30: Reda Combos (Note Intro to Reda is a prerequisite). These are wonderful combinations based on the material taught in the Intro class. These combos will be folded into the choreography tomorrow. This class is a prerequisite for Sunday’s choreography. Cost is $50

 

4:00 - 6:00 A SWAP MEET which is open to the public! No admission. Please note that sellers are asked to pay 10% to the house (that would be me).

Sunday, August 25, 2019: REDA APPLIED

 

10:00-12:00: Part One of an entire choreography. This is based on pure Reda Technique but it is NOT his choreography because he said he did not want his choreographies taught. Prerequisite for this class is Saturday’s afternoon class. Cost is $50

12:00 - 1:00: break time

​

12:30 - 1:30 A working lunch when Aegela will give a DIFFERENT lecture and show footage while you eat. The subject will be Reda’s life in dance ($20). You can brown bag or pay Artie $10 for your vegetarian friendly lunch (boarders get 2 meals included)

1:30 - 3:30: Part Two of the Reda choreography and time permitting, we will have Q and A. Prerequisite for this class is Saturday’s afternoon class. Cost is $50.

 

Private and Semi private lessons during the day on both days are available by appointment only ($80 for one hour, semi private lesson prices depend on the number of people, ask me)
