TEACHER. PERFORMER. HISTORIAN.
ARTEMIS MOURAT
Artemis Mourat has almost 50 years of experience performing, teaching and researching dance throughout the world. She is of Greek and Turkish descent and her love for both cultures shines through in all that she does. She has received numerous awards, is widely published and is a highly sought after master instructor. All of her classes include references to the history and cultures that have gifted these dances to us. Artemis is a loving and articulate teacher. And she believes that we can use music and dance to build bridges across cultures.
Welcome
STUDY WITH ARTEMIS
Middle Eastern dance is based on natural movement so it embraces people of all shapes, sizes and ages. It appeals to and is accessible to everyone. In a warm and energetic atmosphere, students will learn and become empowered as they reconnect with their bodies. I emphasize strong technique which is embedded within a healthy movement vocabulary. I teach about the history and cultures that have given us this ancient art form. I believe that we can use music and dance to build bridges across cultures.
